Fuchsite, also known as chrome Mica, is a chromium rich variety of the mineral Muscovite and belongs to the Mica group of phyllosilicate minerals. Fuchsite is so named after the German chemist and mineralogist Johann Nepomuk von Fuch. Fuchsite crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system, with common colour of the mineral being pale to emerald green. Fuchsite fluoresces lime green under long wave UV light.
