Teething necklaces are made of Baltic Amber; in theory when a baby wears a teething necklace, their body heat triggers the release of a miniscule amount of oil that contains succinic acid, a naturally-occurring substance in the body. When the oil is absorbed it has an analgesic effect for pain relief by wearing the necklace, not chewing!
