A shark tooth contains resistant calcium phosphate materials. Sharks continually shed their teeth, and some even shed approximately 35,000 teeth in a lifetime, as well as replace them by producing thousands of more. This fossil is approximately 155 million years old!
Please note that the roots of these Otodus teeth have been restored with plaster.
