Rainbow Obsidian

Obsidian is commonly found within the margins of Rhyolitic lava flows known as Obsidian flows. The most common Obsidian is pure black, while other variations have been found such as Snowflake, Mahogany and Rainbow Obsidian. Obsidian is hard and brittle; it therefore fractures with very sharp edges, which had been used in ancient times as cutting and piercing tools. In present times Obsidian is believed to be a grounding stone, drawing out negative emotions and energies.
